Kathy Kelly

Mit neun Jahren begann Kathy Kelly Geige und Klavier zu spielen, und im Alter von 16 Jahren studierte sie bei Thomas Christian in Wien. Obwohl sie eine Ausbildung zur Primaballerina absolvierte, widmete sie sich ab dem 17. Lebensjahr vermehrt der Musik. Sie übernahm auch die Produktion der musikalischen Seite der CD-Produktionen der Kelly Family. Im Jahr 1999 veröffentlichte Kathy ihr erstes Soloalbum “The Best of Kathy Kelly”, das noch stark von ihrer Familie beeinflusst war. Im Jahr 2001 verfolgte sie einen eigenen musikalischen Weg mit ihrem Album “Morning of My Life”, in dem sie ihren eigenen Stil fand, geprägt von klassischen, spanischen, französischen und irischen Elementen. Seitdem hat sie mehrere Alben veröffentlicht und ist sowohl solo als auch in Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Künstlern aufgetreten. Kathy Kelly trat von 2017 bis 2020 wieder mit der Kelly Family auf. Im August 2020 nahm sie an der 8. Staffel der Sat.1-Realityshow “Promi Big Brother” teil und belegte den 3. Platz. Im März 2021 veröffentlichte sie gemeinsam mit Jay Alexander das Album “Unter einem Himmel (Just One Sky)”. Im Mai desselben Jahres veröffentlichte sie ihr erstes Klassikalbum “My First Classic”. Für 2022 ist eine gemeinsame Tour mit Jay Alexander geplant.

The Kelly Family, consisting of Daniel Kelly and his numerous children, gained fame across Europe in the 1990s with hits like “An Angel”, “I Can’t Help Myself”, and “Fell in Love with an Alien”. Their music, which blended folk, pop, and rock elements, along with their extraordinary family story – living in a double-decker bus and performing as street musicians at times – captured the attention of millions of fans. Kathy Kelly was one of the main voices of the group and contributed significantly to their success.
